noreply-comment@blogger.com tutorial

Have you ever wondered why bloggers don't reply to your comments. Well, there is a simple reason why bloggers don't reply to your comments and that's because they CAN'T! Here is the solution to fixing the problem. . .

Not too long ago my friend Jodi from Pleasant Home did a wonderful tutorial on being a noreply-comment@blogger.com. If you have a minute go check your blogger account to see if you have it set as NO REPLY.

The reason I'm mentioning this is because with over 1200+ comments on the Moda Progressive Dinner Giveaway I had nearly half of the comments (595 comments) that were set as noreply-comment@blogger. I'm not sure how many of the 595 no reply comments will read this post but if even a small portion read this it will help the blogging community continue to function as it could and should. It's a really simple fix and then you'll be able to receive a reply in response to any of your comments or questions.

It's so frustrating to be unable to respond to a question or comment from your readers and it will make me so happy if you check out Jodi's Tutorial. Thanks!

I was just telling a fellow blogger how to do it the other day. I always hated not being able to reply to her comments.

I clicked on the link you have provided, however, and it did not come up so you might want to double check that - unless it is only me.

The link worked for me.

And I thank you for posting this. I have "answered" so many emails that were sent to "no-reply" Sometimes I notice it right away. Sometimes I even send it without noticing.

It is the absolute WORST to pick a "no-reply" as the winner in a giveaway. It always makes me feel bad for the almost-winner.

Love your graphics on this post! I have pondered the idea of not accepting anonymous comments on my blog but I don't know if that would eliminate no-reply comments as well. It is so frustrating to get comments where the reader asks a specific question and then not be able to respond. Or worse yet is getting a comment filled with all sorts of kind words and not being able to say thank you!

Thanks for putting this info out there!

Hi Kim, I can receive email comments back when I make a comment on a blog, but I don't know how to email the people that comment on my blog. Any suggestions? I love hearing back from people and would like to do that myself. Thanks.

I'm so glad Jodi put together that tutorial. Almost every giveaway I've had a no-reply person has won and I've had no way to contact them so I just pick someone else. Same with answering questions - I worry that people think I'm ignoring them, but really I don't know how to reply. Thanks for bringing this up again, Kim!

Oh my goodness I had no idea that I was a "No reply blogger"
Maybe that's why I never win any thing. lol.

A blogging buddy set me straight on this the other day. I made the fix. I think that people get nervous about enabling email, without realizing it allows us to participate more fully in the "blogosphere." Great site, BTW.

We seriously must be on the same wavelength today, Kim, because I have been thinking about this lately too and wanted to post about it on my blog to see if anyone could tell me what the deal is with it. Thanks for posting about it!
