The Wedding

Thanks to all of our family, friends, and all those that helped with the wedding. It was such a beautiful day and the weather turned out perfect. The weather had been stormy with rain, hail, and thunder. I think we were all praying for clear skies. When we woke up the day of the wedding, it was SNOWING!!! We couldn't believe it but, everyone was in a happy mood and we just knew that it would be a beautiful day. When we came out of the Temple around 12Noon prayers were answered. The sun was shining. The skies were bright and clear. You could just feel the freshness in the air. It was a Beautiful Spring Day with blossoms on every tree and flowers everywhere. Definitely a DAY to Remember!!!

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post but, I still feel like I'm recovering. I need a nap. lol. I do have to tell you that on Tuesday (two days before the wedding) I developed the worst cold sore in my entire life. I've only had three (thus far) but this one made up for the other two. I was sad and grumpy about it but, tried to hide it. I guess with my dental surgery and the stress of having things ready for Liahona's family I couldn't help but have this little adversity too. I managed pretty well with the help of pain medication, my dear husband, and the support of My Family and Liahona's Family. Thanks Everyone!!! I appreciate your love and support. It was a beautiful day!!!

I have to tell you that the pictures I've posted were mostly taken by friends and family and the rest I took from my Flip Video. The Official Wedding Pictures won't be ready to see for another few weeks. At the reception I was so busy that I didn't have a chance to take even one picture. I took my camera with me in the morning to take pictures outside of the Temple after the sealing ceremony but found that I forgot to put the battery back in the camera. I had even made sure that it had a full charge. I could've kicked myself. Oh well, Thanks to everyone who took pictures for me.

This is going to be one of my favorite family pictures as I can tell by this snapshot taken by Liahona's Friend Heather. Thanks Heather for catching the moment for me so I don't have to wait to see the photographers picture.

I absolutely adore the sparkler idea! These are some awesome pictures. My first son got married last year (daughter a few years before) and it's definitely different than marrying off a daughter, but the emotions are the same. I noticed that you had your hand on your son's arm in the family photo. I did that without thinking in our picture too. I wonder if subconsciously we just want to hang on a teeny bit longer to them! They're a very handsome/good looking couple and the reception looks like it turned out wonderful. So glad the weather cooperated too! I hope you feel better soon and can get some rest now!

Your photos are fabulous. I love them. I looked at them backwards and forwards. That green and white is stunning! You look really good. I notice a white jacket and green jacket. They are both really nice. The important thing is that the MOM looks good. The bride always does so that is a given. Her dress is really nice by the way. I can see how she modested it up (I made a new phrase here). I have a few tears for you my dear. I know how hard the last month has been on you. I feel for you. I am excited for good things to come for both of us. This looks like all your efforts were worth it. Beautiful job!

Getting married these days can be very expensive and my fiancé and I just had to find a way to save money. Food is so expensive, so we opted for a cocktail party instead of a full blown meal. Instead of a band or DJ we contracted with a pianist. We found a nice hall that was reasonably priced. When we got to the flowers I was absolutely stunned! Flowers are SO expensive!! I thought about this a lot and came to realize, a nice touch to any celebration is Balloons. Decorating my party with Balloons enhanced the formal aspect of the day while recognizing it also needed a happy party atmosphere. Now you might first think of helium filled balloons, the latex (or rubber) kind or the Mylar (foil) type. I got a few of those nice Mylar balloons that coordinated to my our wedding. For the other balloons, I went with a more economical solution that made a rich party décor look without a high price. Then I thought about all of this running around for balloons was not really what I wanted to do. What if the balloons broke before I got them to the banquet hall? What if I realized later I didn’t buy enough? As the groom, would I have enough time to go back to the store and buy all over again or want to bother another family member or guest to help me out?

That’s when I listened to my friend who recommended to me a great company called Life O ' The Party. Since 1980 Life O’ The Party has been the place for Balloons, Décor and Entertainment for every occasion – anytime, anywhere, nationwide. The home for exquisite event décor, custom centerpieces and props, costumed messengers, party entertainers and so much more. When I called them they said no order is too big or too small and I liked that very much. Life O’ The Party has grown steadily to become the metropolitan area’s premier novelty telegram, balloon, DJ and entertainment company. They have appeared many times on television as well. They appeared regularly on the NBC hit series “ED,” Third Watch” and “Law and Order”, on the very first “The Morning Show” on CBS, on Entertainment Tonight (ET), USA Network’s “UP All Night” and Fox Television’s “Good Day New York.”

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2009 featured 15,000 of their balloons, while World Cup USA welcomed their balloons on the field at Giants Stadium in New York and Foxboro Stadium in w:st="on"Massachusetts for Opening Day festivities. In the movies, their balloons are featured in the blockbuster “Spiderman 3,” Ron Howard’s movie “Ransom,” “You’ve Got Mail” starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan and Oliver Stone’s latest epic “w:st="on"World Trade Center.”

Life O’ The Party deals in balloons, decorating, party balloons, balloon delivery, party planner, clowns, magicians, DJ’s, musicians, fortune tellers, caricaturists, air-brush artists, singing telegrams. Karaoke, centerpieces, props, casino games, carnival games, entertainers, party entertainers, confetti cannons, balloon arches, balloon sculptures, balloon release, balloon drops, balloon bouquets, classic balloon décor, event decorating, photo favors, balloon printing, party favors, musicians and balloon twisting.

Its real specialties are Balloons (bouquets, centerpieces, arches & sculptures), Décor (centerpieces and total room makeovers) and Entertainment for every occasion – anytime, anywhere, nationwide. I even switched my pianist to one of theirs who was more reasonably priced and was a terrific musician.

Life O’ The Party truly was the Life of Our Wedding and I can’t thank them enough for everything they did to make our wedding day memorable and very, very special.

Life O’ The Party can be reached at 800-74-PARTY or 201-342-2121 or online at www.lotparty.com and by e-mail at info@lotparty.com and I very much recommend you contact them. They were great to work with!

Congrats! You make a lovely bride! I adore your vintage inspired dress and all the green accents. The day we showed up for my rehearsal was the day after an ice storm that knocked out all the power at the reception site for 3 days! Thank goodness it came on while we were there or I may have had a heart attack (though I would have loved to have seen the thousands of candles and my bridesmaids singing that was promised if there was no power!) Congratulations again, gorgeous pictures, gorgeous day, gorgeous couple!
