During the recent Progressive Dinner at my house many of you asked me. . .
"What is Danish Dessert?" and "Where can I find it?"
Here's the Answer. . .
Danish Dessert is a powder that comes in a box that you mix with water and heat on the stove top. It turns into a gel like substance and is exactly like the strawberry pie filling you would get in a strawberry pie from the grocery store or a restaurant like "Marie Callendar's Restaurant" or "Village Inn"
Here's Where You Can Find It. . .
You can usually find it in the gelatin (JELLO) section in your local grocery store. I did a search for danish dessert on the internet for those that can't find it locally and I found a set of 12 boxes of Danish Dessert available for purchase on AMAZON.
Below you will see a few other links to places you can purchase Danish Dessert online. . .
Here's the LINK for the Strawberry Trifle Recipe just in case you didn't remember to pick one up before you left the party. ENJOY!!!
I think my aunt uses Danish Dessert! I'll have to remember to get some when I come out for market. (You know, to save postage LOL!)
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I had no idea they still made this stuff! I haven't seen it for years and years.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so yummy for something that comes out of a box!

When I read Danish Dessert on your blog I knew you lived in Utah. In Utah Danish Dessert is a staple. We probably use more Danish Dessert than any other state or country. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your blog.

Oh my gosh. When I read that I had a flashback to my childhood. I loved that stuff. I wonder if I would like it now. Will have to get some now that you mentioned it but don't think I want 12 boxes. Thanks for the memory.
ReplyDeleteI don't recall ever seeing Junket in stores - of course, I haven't looked for it either. I do remember it being a staple when I was a kid though. I'll have to do some searching! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteFor the Strawberry Trifle, in step 3, how long should I beat the cream and sugar together? What's the consistency supposed to resemble? Same question for step 2. The recipe looks delish! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDanish Dessert is sooooo hard to find! It's a tradition for our family (mom's from Idaho) on Christmas Eve, and we've had Grandma bring it across states, countries, and oceans just to be sure to have a supply!
ReplyDeleteSounds as good as Shoney's strawberry pie filling!! I buy those pies just for the filling! forget the berries! ha!!
ReplyDeleteI have printed this off and am going to get the ingredients tomorrow!
F0rget the berries! nah! Forget the diet!!! ha!
I have been using it for years and I LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to be looking for that! They were giving out samples of strawberries at Sam's Club this week and that set me to thinking about a strawberry pie...yum! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteHope all is well Kim. We made your delicious Apple dessert tonight, so it made me think of you.
ReplyDeleteOn a very different note...thank you for sharing your pattern on Moda Bake Shop for the table runner, "Plates for your table". I am making it now and am really enjoying it. Thanks again.
