Piece & Love

This is ME standing with Dawn from "Piece & Love" at Pine Needles.

One of my Highlights of the Day!

I was standing in line at the cash register waiting to make my purchase when I hear. . . Is that...? I turned and looked and the person behind me said something like . . . it is Kim! Hi, I'm Dawn from Piece & Love.

It took me a few seconds to make the connection because she doesn't have a picture on her blog but it didn't take me long. Dawn lives in Nevada right near Sherri of "A Quilting Life" and a short distance from Nedra of "Cactus Needle" blog. I've not been able to get to St. George at the same time when Dawn is visiting with Nedra so, it was fun to run into her at Pine Needles.

Once we got past the initial recognition we hug and visited for a bit then I had my friend take a picture of us so we could blog about it.

It was so fun meeting Dawn and it was one of those wonderful chance meetings. She and a friend had driven up to do some family history work at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and Dawn had talked her friend into making a quilting detour. I'm so happy her friend said yes and that Dawn recognized me. I was in the quilting zone and would have likely walked right past her especially since she wasn't wearing her Blog Name on her shirt. lol. I think more of you need to post your pictures so I can recognize you more easily, but, maybe that's the point. ha. ha. You'd rather go icognito. I totally understand.

Check back later today for Part 2 of the Shop Hop. Thanks.

  1. Hi Kim!
I am a Canadian Snowbird (I go where it's hot in the winter months). My husband and I stay in an RV Resort in Palm Springs for 3-4months. I am coming out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my head and this lady stops me and says..."Are you Sweet P from the Blog Sweet P Quilting?..." "Ahhhhh yes..." I say...so you see 'they' track you down where ever you are!! Great fun!

  4. What a fun surprise! I'm glad she recognized you too. It's so amazing to people who don't blog to hear about the relationships and friendships that are built here! I know I've made life-long friends through blogging and hope to meet them some day too. I wanted to do the shop hop as I'm in Utah too but my boss needed overtime so I guess it wasn't meant to be. Maybe next year!

  7. How wonderful that you met Dawn! Isn't she the sweetest thing ever? I don't have a chance to see her nearly enough even though we live within a hours drive.
I should make a trip with her to the Family History Library sometime.
