I thought I'd start out with this dress that I made my girls 13 years ago when my oldest was 12 years old. I think now that I was pretty lucky to get her to wear this dress. I was even luckier to get her 10 year old brother to wear pants made out of the lighter blue fabric from the dress. I have a picture of the three kids but it's a print and it's in a box in the garage and it would take me too long to find it. I can't seem to find the smaller dress that my 6 year old wore that matches this dress. I hope it's in the closet that my son put a dresser in front of, again, I'm too tired to move it and have a look. Trust me! It's even cuter in the smaller version and they all looked sooo cute!!! What sweet memories!
BTW: It's been so long since I made these dresses I'm not even sure if I still have the pattern anymore. Sorry!
The remaining pictures are some that I've scanned into my computer a while ago and they're very special to me since, I don't seem to have too many pictures from my childhood. I'm not sure if any of them were from Easter but, I think that at least one of them had to be close to spring time from the look of the dresses.
A great picture of my me and my Mom.

You are such a talented lady, I just love these gorgeous dresses!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. You were a beautiful little girl.
ReplyDeleteI especially loved the one with the encyclopedia's behind you. Remember when every house seemed to have a set? We couldn't give away ours when we moved. Now with the World Wide Web who needs encyclopedia's? That is another thing we can share with future generations..."I remember Encyclopedias"
Great photos. I especially like the bunnies on the dresses. I made my daughter a jumper with the bib being the rabbits head, but am not nearly as organized as you so have no idea where the photo is. I love the photo of all of you lined up on the sofa.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is so adorable, what a job you did. I Love the pictures, thank God for them as they take us back to wherever we want to see in our past. They preserve time, preserve our memories and our Loved ones. Thank you for sharing
ReplyDeleteLove the bunny dress. Very special. And I can see your Mom in you! What a lovely family.
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet pictures. Love the dress. One year my mother in law made matching white eyelet dresses for me and my daughter. I still have them :-)
ReplyDeleteThe dress is absolutely adorable! Reminds me of when my daughter was little and I would make her Daisy Kingdom dresses for Easter and Christmas. I still have the dresses and made smaller ones for a Daisy Kingdom doll I found so she and her dolly would match.
ReplyDeleteThose are great pictures!! Memories!
ReplyDeleteThe little rabbit dress is adorable.
What a pretty dress. Don't you love sewing matchy for kids? I even made my poor boys match when they were little. I love the family pictures too -- especially you on the couch in that last picture -- what a cutie!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of you Kim. What a sweet kid. Sweet adult too! I love seeing everyone's childhood pictures. It is really fun. That dress is amazing. I love it. It is great that it is in mint condition. I wish my mom had done that. You amaze me.
ReplyDeleteLove those dresses .

ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you found the time to post them...
Darling dress, Kim. I only wish I had photos of the dresses/outfits I made the girls as they were growing up. We didn't even have a camera. But I have the memories and I smile when I'm "able" to remember...LOL
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you.
I love your family photos...it has a bit of vintage look to it and with a little whimsy feel.
